Welcome to India’s first fully-planned, hill city.
An altitude ranging between 2000 and 3000 feet makes it an elevated spot of paradise. A 20 kilometre lake flowing between its banks makes it a destination that’s both tranquil and idyllic. An allotted space of 25,000 acres makes it the biggest hill city ever in the history of India. But there's more to Lavasa than the embrace of the Sahyadri hills and the passage of Lake Warasgaon. It is among India's most well planned leisure destinations. Arrive here and the sight of Mediterranean styled buildings in pastel colours lined up on either side of Lake Warasgaon will simply stop your thoughts, your breath, your steps. It is very near to the 2 major metropolises – Mumbai and Pune. There are 5 access routes and the best developed route is the Chandni Chowk – Pune road which is approx an hour’s drive (around 65 kms.) from Pune and 3.5 hrs. (around 200 kms.) from Mumbai.
Getting to Lavasa by local transportation:
1. Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has started bus services from Swargate Bus Depot in Pune to Lavasa.
2. You can also take a direct bus to Kothrud Bus Depot from Pune Railway Station and from there you would get a direct bus to Lavasa. You can also take an auto-rickshaw from Kothrud to Lavasa.
